Saws launches automatic bandsaws
Time: 2009-02-20
Saws UK has launched the Alligator A Series of twin-pillar automatic bandsaws.

The 320A and 460A Series are fully automatic twin-pillar straight-cutting bandsaws, for a diverse range of industrial applications.

The heavy-duty and compact series has a distortion-free frame that is guided by the twin pillars to guarantee highly accurate cutting for the life of the saw.

For rigidity and accuracy, the bar feed and clamping vice incorporate heavy-duty wear- resistant round guides.

The 320A and 460A both have hydraulic blade tension regulation and vices with a full-stroke cylinder.

The Alligator A Series is suitable for machine shops, as well as full production environments, with its manual or fully automatic mode.

For production environments or companies cutting large amounts of material, the series has a part counter, variable feed rates, coolant system, 2m roller table, screw-type swarf conveyor and driven swarf brush that all contribute to productive cutting with minimum machine downtime.

The series is suited to cutting through difficult materials and large billets with its high-torque frequency-controlled motor and variable speed range of 20 to 80m per minute.

The working range for the 320A is 320mm for round and square workpieces, while the 460A can accommodate 460mm diameter billets and 460mm x 470mm square billets.

Both machines have a 24V control voltage with a 5hp and 7.5hp frequency-controlled motor on the 320A and 460A respectively.

The saws have a 700 and 790mm working height that sits in a 2,050 x 2,050 x 1,600mm (320A) and 2,550 x 2,200 x 2,000mm (460A) working envelope.

The range operates with bimetal blades that comfortably slice through virtually any material that is put on the saw bed.
